The Olympic flame ignites Saudi Arabia
On the 28th of October, Balich Wonder Studio staged an unforgettable evening of celebration at Riyadh’s King Fahd Stadium: the OPENING CEREMONY of the SAUDI GAMES.
It was the most significant sporting competition in the Kingdom, where a torchbearer lighted the Olympic fire for the first time in Saudi Arabia.
Under the creative direction of Mitch Sebastian, our production team, led by Matthias Schnabel, took care of the video content production for the stage projection.
Ceremonies are always challenging because of the different types of content required.
Even more so in this case, since both artistic and protocol segments had to be developed quickly, it was paramount to strike the right balance between the two visual languages.
Ultimately, it all came together beautifully, and we are thrilled with our results.
We are proud to be part of such a historic moment.

1.Idea
An opening ceremony of sports games in accordance with the standards required by the IOC (International Olympia Committee) for Olympic ceremonies.
This means balancing the artistic moments, protocol and parade of athletes.
2.Work
We realized the videos and animated sets for the surfaces of the stage. The planning of the work, in collaboration with the other creative departments of the show (choreography, scenography, etc.), has allowed the staging of coordinated segments that have returned memorable moments of entertainment.
